July 29, 2011

Vietnam Zen Meditation Center
Dalat’s destination

Located 5km southern Dalat, Truc Lam Temple marked it name leading Vietnam Zen meditation center. The Buddhist temple was completed in 1994 from master sketch of architect Ngo Viet Thu, who is famed for his rewarding works over Vietnam.
According to Thich Thanh Tu, the temple head monk, this charming complex brings new life of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect which dated back from the late of XIV century.

The complex has four different sections. For inner -site visit, permission is required. So far, this is few places in Vietnam to welcome people for slow life and zen practice, both locals and foreigners.

Early morning or late afternoon is right time to pay a visit for zen atmosphere, nature close up slow life (even in a short time).

Personally, I love Dalat heart breathtaking panoramic view from hilltop tram before descending down to the main temple.
